2-Page Website Design for Migrant Mutual Aid

Who We Are

Migrant Mutual Aid is a local, ground-up initiative that organises urgent needs in the Migrant Worker community and connects people who need support with those who are able to provide it. For us, the task is not to be ‘middlemen’ but to be facilitators; to create a system where people can anonymously and directly redistribute resources to migrant workers. We aim to address systemic injustices without replicating the tools of the state. Our IG page is under construction at the moment but we've parked all our content on the utopia page for now.

What We Need

We are looking for help with our website design and activation. We already have the wireframe, the copy, and some images to use for each section; we just need someone who is adept at WordPress (and it's add-ons) to help us put everything together. The first page is a basic Home Page containing an about, and a Donorbox widget (for easy contributions to workers); the second page contains all our Active & Completed Listings with some hyperlinks to Telegram and Excel.

Why The Work Is Important

Migrant workers are one of the most vulnerable communities in Singapore, and their welfare, dignity, and fundamental rights have often been disregarded due to the ‘transient nature’ of their existence here. This also means that it is much harder for migrant workers to self-organise to advocate for themselves or even communicate their needs publicly. The website will help us to concentrate all the information + traffic, and make contributing much smoother for people.

Deadline & Requirements

We don't have a hard and fast deadline for this, but it is important to us that the designer who comes on board resonates with our values. We would also like to work collaboratively with the designer so that it is a meaningful experience for everyone.
