Foodscape Pages is an independent publication platform that celebrates stories of food for people and planet. Through stories and curious inquiries of our lived experiences, Pages holds space for regeneration and renewal. A space for imagination, inspirations and community presence, we explore new narratives together in our relationship with ourselves, one another, and the planet.
Foodscape Pages is a sister of Foodscape Collective, a community group with a mission for a fair and circular food system.
Our very small team has created a basic website in the past few months. You can check it out here: www.foodscapepages.org.
We are an entirely self-initiated publication with no funding and was started with a lot of passion, love and community contribution.
WHO ARE WE REACHING OUT TO:
Our intended readers and community are those who wants to explore the various aspects of food growing, and also appreciates long form writing and content with more breadth and depth. We champion stories that are nourishing for our bellies, hearts and the planet. We hope that we can hold space for more meaningful stories to emerge from the community, and to collective raise awareness and increase care in how we grow, how we eat, and how we can feed the land that feed us.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Website Design - (August to October 2020, averaging a total of 20+ hours, depending on the designer's proposal and the collaborative process) > add a feature where readers can buy our new magazine “The Sauce”. > add a feature where people can make donation on a sliding scale amount to support our work. > suggest any edits to the website to make it more dynamic/ interesting/ engaging > ideas on how to expand our readership
Layout Design - (January to February 2021)
> After the editorial process of SEEDS is complete, we will pass on the content to a layout designer to do the magic on the page. This anticipated time commitment is 3 to 4 hours per week over a period of two months, with roughly 2 to 3 rounds of edits once the general design elements are in placed.
We hope that the improvement to our online publication can expand our readership to bring our work to more audience. We value the work that we do and see that it can benefit many people who can access it. Most importantly, we value the people we work with and look forward to the process that is supportive and fulfilling for all involved.
